Dapper Day Magic Kingdom
Ray and Joanie
Joanie made the dress, Ray made the matching hat
There are so many fabulous spots in the Magic Kingdom to get great
pictures. We take advantage of the smaller crowds in the morning to get
photos before the streets become too crowded.
Joanie saw this dress pattern online and fell in love with it. And
then she saw the fabric online, but couldn’t find it in any of the
local stores. We finally had to order the fabric and have it
delivered to us, about three weeks before Dapper Day weekend.
We got the pattern locally, but had to pay full list price. She
normally tries to get her patterns during sales at a much
discounted price. We had to order more fabric than we needed,
so we found out that we had enough extra fabric left over that
Ray could make the hat to match the dress.
Ray is well known for carrying a vintage camera with him. This time he
carried his vintage Argus camera with him. Yes, it does really work.
You can see some photos he has taken with it on this website.

This little sweetheart was attending her very first Dapper Day. Her mother said she was so excited to be there. We added
the train case and camera to her accessories, and Addy loaned her the Dapper Day parasol so she would be in style for
her photos. She was a little shy at first, but once the photos started, she was completely at ease posing for the pictures.
This girl was wearing a dress that had
been in the family for years. The story
was that there were several dresses in
their family with this same fabric from
the 1960’s, but this is the only one that
had survived. She looked perfectly
vintage and was proud to be in a family
heirloom.
This man’s name is Bill Burns. He has made several appearances at Dapper
Day in California, and this spring decided to come to Florida with his Walt
Disney look, too. He gets a lot of attention during his appearances. Everyone
wants a photo with “Walt”.

When you really want to make sure your accessories go with your
outfit, you make a fascinator hat to go with your dress, and then
decorate your shoes to go with the Dole Whip theme, too.
This is the mother of the
girl in the plaid family
heirloom dress. The
mother’s hat, purse and
dress were all vintage from
the 1960’s and looked
perfect.

These ladies have followed us
on social media for several
years. It was fun to meet them
in person.
We love meeting new people during Dapper Day. This couple says they
will be coming back a lot now.
