You don’t have to put a lot of thought into a gift exchange when it comes to the Darlins gift exchange. But some of us do. The first year we went we made a little tree ornament with the dancer from the artwork from the Darlins button. Others made little things. For 2016 it was a sock exchange. Just get a pair of socks (several of us got the dollar store socks ). Marina always makes the exchange interesting, reading The Night Before Christmas.
Waiting for Santa
Remember when you tried to stay awake all night for Santa to come? You just knew that if you could stay awake that he would come down the chimney or open the front door and you would be the only kid on the block to say, “ I saw Santa bring me my Christmas presents!” Some kids would said, “No way.” Some would say, “Did you talk to him?” Others would ask what you got, then was it the toy you asked him for or something else? The Darlin’s bring that little excitement back with the Ugly Bug Ball. We have a gift exchange and let’s face it, getting a gift and not knowing what it is can always be fun. The surprise is worth the wait.
Photo Time at Epcot
Barbara sees the snowman. Do you think anyone else noticed him?
The group grows and changes throughout the day. It’s still hard to get everyone in line for the shot at the same time, but our photographers and Marina make it all work.
Minnie worked especially hard to get the “tail” on her dress just right. She wanted to be the best Ugly Bug there.
Photographers are usually the last ones to get in the shot. Here’s Sherri squeezing in late.
Most of us look confused waiting for direction, but Maria and Kari know exactly where the camera is aimed!
