Welcome Dapper Day

Sunday April 30th 2017

We had a detour to get out of the heat for a while

Did we tell you that Dapper Day festivities bring out amazing accessories? Just look at Dawn Marie. Not only does she have a big fancy hat, she’s also wearing gloves, a chic pearl necklace, and sunglasses with lots of bling. And check out the sign she’s holding! Actually, there are a couple of signs that were made by Lawrence because, if the heat or the crowds get to be too much, a group of us take a detour to Boardwalk to sit and cool down for a while. It makes a good break during a hectic day.
Countryside of
Epcot
Wherever there are pretty dresses and fancy, dapper men, you can usually expect dancing to break out. It just seems to be part of the spirit of the day. And Disney World nearly always has music playing, so the dancing is a very natural part of the day. Jason is our swing dance expert, and he always seems to be willing to dance with whomever is closeby.
This little girl was excited to be one of Jason’s dance partners. He was happy to have a smaller partner who danced with him and had a ball doing it.
Jason and Ann have danced together for several years. Ann is not only beautiful, but a wonderful lady as well. She is a former Miss American Patriot and has done modeling and other pagents. She is almost always willing to do fancy dance moves and flips with Jason and they always entertain the crowds. Here you see a swing move, then the flip, up, all the way around, a 360-degree flip and back to her feet. They are so graceful when they do this!
The other action that always seems to break out when there are so many pretty dresses is twirling. The full skirts and colored petticoats look so pretty when they are all twirling around! Remember when you were a little kid and you could only see things from about knee level? Well, that’s the perspective this little girl had. She was in a sea of petticoats and dresses, but she didn’t mind. She wanted to be right in the middle of the action. And let’s face it, most little girls, when they have pretty dresses, like to twirl to show how extra pretty they are. If you look closely, you’ll see even the boys like twirling.
Here is Jason dancing with Marina. She has become more comfortable the past few events with dancing with him. Jason loves to dip her, and she very often squeals when he does. At first it was because she didn’t expect it, but now we think it’s just because she loves it. And look how impressed the crowd around them is!
And then Ann passes the spotlight on to the girl next to her.

More gifts. Thank you Elaine for the Bubble Gum Wall button. We will have to take more pictures of the wall. We walk into Epcot and pass by the wall but we do not think to stop. Elaine gave us this large button to wear. We had some much fun that day but still hot. We walked around and got to see others with the Bubble Gum Wall button. Elaine had also made some flowers with small lady bugs on them for people to wear, but by the time we found her, those were all gone. What a day! Thanks again, Elaine.
