Magic Kingdom
It was about 97º on Dapper Day, very hot. People were online talking about what to
wear because it was going to be so hot. I had a vest and jacket. Joanie and I had
planned to wear the 1918 clothing months ago. So we and others went to the A/C a
lot. We love Jon and Payton We got to meet them at one of the events called Kiss the
Streets of America Good-bye. They had not be married very long at that time.
We know we have emphasized accessories and details before. We also love to look at the shoes people wear. Here is
just a sampling of some of the shoes. Some of them are hand decorated, some are ordered to specially go with one
specific outfit, some have added embellishments, and all are spectacular. They express the personality of the wearer.
We often overlook the shoes until we stop to really talk to someone. So when you’re at the next Dapper Day event, don’t
forget to look at the shoes!
In the past we didn’t have many photos of the
two of us together. We work now to be sure
that when we go to events, we get our photo
taken together to show that we were actually
there together. We hope you like seeing our
outfits up close. Even though it was a hot
day, we had a good time, and love being
together. We fit into the decor of the park
pretty well, don’t you think?
Hanging out at the Chapeau hat shop. We got there early so we
could get some good shops before the crowds came in.
Joanie thinks she might need to get more hats!
Ray said if Joanie gets more hats, he might have to invest in a few more for himself, too.
And a quick stop at the sweet
shop to keep our energy up.
A group of us went for lunch together. It was a great meal. When the server
first arrived, he asked what he could bring us to drink. Because it was so hot,
everyone told him we just wanted a huge pitcher of ice water. Someone else
said, “no, just bring a bucket!” And finally we said just find a hose and run the
water directly to our table. He didn’t think he could do that for us. After he
got all the water for us, he asked if anyone was celebrating anything. One girl
said she was celebrating anything. So we told him, yes, our birthdays, and our
anniversary, and our retirement, and whatever else we could think of. Well, at
the end of the meal, the server showed up with a dessert for the one
celebrating her birthday, and this anniversary dessert and a birthday dessert
for us. We tried to explain to him that we were kidding, but he didn’t
understand and just left the complimentary desserts anyhow. It was a fun
ending to a fun meal with friends. We shared our desserts with the table.
It looks like the
heat is getting to
Joanie.
Just hanging around waiting for more of the days activities. And we’re watching all of
the wonderful clothing styles walking by.
Is he whispering sweet nothings in
her ear?
