Norwegian Getaway
January 29, 2017 ( or January 29, 1955 )
Donald Duck Cola made it on the
Norwegian ship. He got his picture
around the ship. Donald Duck soft
drinks were the first sodas to be
produced by General Beverages,
Inc. of Chattanooga, Tennessee in
1952, the year and place Ray was
born. So we just had to get one of
the bottles.
Joanie looking so lovely in one of the restaurants. We
stopped by all of them on that deck. So much fun
exploring when places aren’t occupied.
This room had some nice old prints on the
wall of Key West, Florida. It makes you want
to travel more.
Some of the rooms had a awesome chairs and tables. I love
the stripes on the chairs. They looked vintage with the
cream and brown colors.
This room had some nice pictures of a New York street.
They were nice and big also. Do you remember the little
end table that were round in your house?
This restaurant had great seating both outside and inside. Lots of wine bottles. What kind would you like he asked?
Everything was all set for the evening dinner. The crew said come on in and take some photos.
A friend of ours works as a PR
representative for MSC cruise line, so
we just had to get picture for her.
Their cruise ship docked next to ours
at one of the ports.
Found this phone booth in Miami at
our hotel. Should have gotten more
pictures of it. Most of them on McGuire
AFB in the 1980’s were very old and all
wood. They also still had the Bell
telephone cast iron logo on the booth. I
should have taken that off when I had
the chance, before they removed the
phone booths.
You just don’t know what animal you’re going to get in
your room at the end of the day.
Don’t you dare drink my Donald Duck Cola now!
The views from the decks can be fabulous. Sometimes being outside and just watching the sea is calming. We enjoy
being out in the air, sometimes feeling a little spray from the waves as we skim over the water.
Some of the cruises offer cupcake
decorating classes. It’s fun to watch,
and to see the style of cupcake they
will be featuring on that particular day.
