Mrs. Potts and Chip were present with the group.
We also saw the young women from the village who
were all trying to catch the eye of Gaston, but he
only wanted to wed Belle. Belle was doing her
marketing in the town square when we first saw her
during the day. We also noticed there was an
abundance of red roses throughout the day.
The townspeople gathered to get a glimpse of Gaston as he strolled through the village square. At
one time we noticed that Belle was trying to show the lady merchants a chapter in one of her books.
The other ladies seem to be looking at her behind her back with disdain.
We had one Enchantress, but quite a few versions of Belle.
Belle ranged from the maiden in the village square to the
final Belle gown from the end of the movie.
There were a few Gastons and
several representations of the
Beast.
We even had several outfits that
represented the red rose that
was such an important part of
the story.
And of course, we had all the
enchanted household servants
from the castle who were so
important in keeping the castle
going.
The red roses were all beautiful.
Two of the cleverest of the ladies
used bubble umbrellas to
represent the glass dome placed
over the rose.
Our variety of Belles went from
Belle in the town, to Belle in the
castle, and Belle after the spell was
broken, and even Winter Belle
showed up.
Our tallest Beast loves to dance, and each of the
ladies who wanted to got a turn dancing with him.
Here he is taking a turn with Mrs. Potts and one of
the red roses.
The Beast’s next dancing partners were
some of the Belles in attendance that day.
Of course, that would be appropriate for
the Beast.
Some of the townspeople and castle personnel
gathered in the town square to see the royal
parade.
Red roses were everywhere. We saw just rose stems, rose
head bands, roses on hats, roses as purses, and roses
included in the fabric of dresses. With all the yellow Belle
dresses, and the blue and white of village Belle, along with the
blue and yellow of the Beast’s clothing, the vivid colors were
striking in the bright Florida sun.
Gaston, the “Gray Stuff” and Fifi came together.
They were ready for a day of fun in the Beast’s
kingdom.
The Enchantress offered the young prince a
rose, but he would have none of it. He rejected
her because of her appearance. She cursed him
until he could love and be loved in return.
Cogsworth, Winter Belle and Mrs. Potts
take time to chat with Belle in the park
before taking time for lunch.
Ray and Joanie decided because it was such an important day, with the premier of the movie, we
should have some special cards to commemorate the day. We had hoped to make enough to have one
for each person attending, but while we expected around 45 people, there were over 60 attending our
lunch at the Be Our Guest restaurant. The cards were designed by Ray and both Ray and Joanie took
time to assemble them. We passed them out at lunch time and everyone seemed to be pleased.
Lunch was delicious and I know none of us went away hungry. Be Our Guest even offered a
special lemon cupcake topped with a red rose for the occasion. There were so many of us,
we took up almost an entire section of the dining room.
On March 18, 2017, a group of adventurous souls gathered
to celebrate the opening day of the Beauty and the Beast
live action film. Each character dressed to resemble a part
of the cast of characters. We had such a fun day, making
several stops in the Magic Kingdom to visit Belle and the
Beast. Our characters included Belle, the Beast, Gaston,
Lefou, theEnchantress, Mrs. Potts and Chip, Fifi, the feather
duster, Cosgworth, Lumiere and even “the gray stuff”. It
was amazing to see the creativity that went into all of these
representations.
